I attended a very interesting breakfast meeting today at Northwest Entrepreneur Network, at the Harbor Club in Bellevue. The speaker was Ben Huh, CEO of Pet Holdings, a website company that specializes in pet-themed and LOL-themed special interest sites, like http://icanhascheezburger.com/.
One of Ben’s themes in talking about his sites was about how interpretation and spin adds value to data, and makes it more interesting and informative – and how there is lots of opportunity for participation on blogs to generate that more valuable content. He said “Mere facts are a raw resource, like a lump of coal; they don’t create useful energy until you burn them in the fire of analysis – then they have value.” And I thought “Ahhh, I’ve been harpooned! I know I’m a data guy, and sometimes I stuff too many facts in my market reports, and maybe not enough analysis.”
So forgive me Father, for I have Sinned… and I’ll try to do better from now on

I didn’t understand the concluding part of your article, could you please explain it more?
I tend to stuff too much data and too many thoughts in my posts. I’m trying to slim them down.
